Pulmonary Fibrosis is a progressive disease characterized by scarring and thickening of the lining of the lungs, causing an irreversible damage to the lung tissue. Several diseases cause fibrosing in the lungs such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung diseases. This fibrosis of the lungs is progressive and causes difficulty breathing and eventual oxygen dependence.
