Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, causing a wide range of symptoms including vision problems, fatigue, difficulty walking, and cognitive issues. Most people are diagnosed with MS between the ages of 20 and 50, with women being 3 times more likely than men to develop the condition. Approximately 1 million people are living with MS in the US today. While the exact cause is unknown there are several factors that increase the risk of developing MS, including genetic and environmental factors.
