Kidney Stones
It is estimated that 1 in 10 people will have a kidney stone in their lifetime. Kidney stones are hard objects that can be formed from different chemicals in the urine. The four types of kidney stones are: calcium oxalate, uric acid, struvite, and cystine. Rare conditions such as cystinuria and homocystinuria cause frequent kidney stones. Kidney stones can be very painful and often require emergency room treatment.
