About Inherited and Acquired Factor Deficiencies

Inherited and acquired factor deficiencies are a group of bleeding disorders in which blood doesn’t clot normally. Bleeding disorders such as Hemophilia and Von Willebrand can be inherited or acquired and are characterized by extended bleeding after injury, surgery, trauma, etc. Symptoms can include bleeding into joints and/or muscles, excessive bruising, and extended bleeding after a cut or minor medical procedures. Treatment can vary based on the exact condition and its severity.
